하지만 실제 임상에서는 신경치료 후에도 일정 기간 통증이나 불편감이 나타나는 경우가 있습니다.

오늘은 신경치료 후에도 통증이 남을 수 있는 치의학적인 이유에 대해 설명드리겠습니다.

1. 치료 중인 치아는 구조적으로 약해진 상태입니다

신경치료는 치아 내부의 감염된 신경 조직을 제거하고
치근관을 세척한 뒤 내부를 채우는 치료입니다.

이 과정에서 치아 씹는 면에 작은 접근 구멍을 만들어 내부를 치료하게 되는데,
이 때문에 치료 중인 치아는 일시적으로 구조적으로 약해진 상태가 됩니다.

이때 해당 치아로 단단한 음식을 씹게 되면
치아에 과도한 힘이 가해져 통증이 발생하거나
심한 경우 파절 위험이 높아질 수 있습니다.

 

Root canal treatment removes infected nerve tissue
and disinfects the internal canal system of the tooth.

During the procedure, an access opening is created on the chewing surface
so that the dentist can clean and treat the inside of the tooth.

As a result, the tooth becomes temporarily weakened,
and biting hard foods may cause pain or even increase the risk of fracture.

감염된 조직과 세균을 제거하게 됩니다.

이 과정에서 발생하는 미세한 자극이 치아 뿌리 끝으로 전달되면
치아를 지지하는 조직인 치주 인대(PDL) 가
일시적인 염증 반응을 보일 수 있습니다.

이 때문에 치료 후 며칠 동안
씹을 때 욱신거리거나 누르는 통증이 나타날 수 있습니다.

대부분의 경우 이러한 증상은
며칠 내 자연스럽게 가라앉습니다.
